• University of South Florida, College of Education - 2021 and 2023 Excellence in Undergraduate Education Award – March 2021 and April 2023 – Selected based on student and faculty recommendations.
   

• Hannibal, Missouri Key to the City – February 2013 – Presented the key to the city by the mayor and city council for contributions to the city during my tenure as director of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum.
   

• Missouri Governor’s 2012 Tourism Ambassador Award -- September 2012 – Awarded, according to Katie Steele-Danner, Missouri Director of Tourism, “for personifying the word ambassador. She enthusiastically supports not only Mark Twain, but Hannibal and Missouri tourism as well. Her passion and dedication to Missouri tourism is unrivaled.”

 

• Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce 2012 Community Betterment Award -- January 2012 - Awarded for conceiving, writing, and co-producing the Mark Twain: Words & Music CD for the national attention it brought to Hannibal.

 

• Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce 2021 Civic Contributor Award -- January 2011 -- Awarded for leadership during 2010, “The Year of Mark Twain,” and the positive impact this had on Hannibal.

 

• Hannibal NAACP 2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. Award -- October 2010 -- Awarded for teaching a series of special after-school science programs for at-risk youth at the Mark Twain Museum over a two-year period.

 

• Missouri Governor's 2010 Humanities Award -- October 2010 -- Exemplary Community Achievement – Awarded for “special contributions to a community’s understanding of and support for humanities-related endeavors.”
